I just checked my WoW account. It's set to expire/renew itself (with another 6-month block) on September 18th. Two days from now.
I normally buy a 6-month block of WoW for $78.
I could also do three months for $42. That would have me playing for a month or so after the release of Wrath of the Lich King.
I don't believe I'm seriously considering bailing on the World of Warcraft, for Wizard 101, but I am. I'd save $50 by not buying Wrath. That's practically a 12-month sub to W101 right there. And 6 months of WoW is more expensive than 12 months of W101.
Oh boy.

Its up to you, and ultimately, its what provides you with the most fun.
Mind you, would you play Wizard101 for 12 months?
Also, never use expense as a point of comparison. If you gave up the internet and computer games, and played football, you would be healthier and save huge amounts of money :)
LOL! I'm already playing Wii Fit, and getting in shape :D
I don't know about playing W101 for 12-months, but the intro special for a 12-month sub is actually cheaper than its 6-month sub. Insane. Being able to play it with my son (w/o buying the WoW Treasure Chest) is a plus, too.
I...might go back to WoW. But I may choose to jump into WAR in a few months, instead.
I've also got the Wii's Zelda game to complete (and a 50" TV) on which to play it.
I knew this was coming, sooner or later, I just didn't realize it was this soon :P
Yes, having to buy WoW and then TBC, just so you can play WotLK is a bit mad. Blizzard should introduce a thin client with WotLK that incorporates the trial client.
There are plenty of games coming out at the moment. WAR is one I will only try out if enough friends and family try it and so far none of them have mentioned it.
I'm still awaiting news of Stargate Worlds, myself.
Wizard is not THAT good is it?
Having played the Beta I can tell you that Blizzard has really gone above and beyond here. It will be released unpolished and unfinished because they are dickheads, but it is still an experience to behold.
Wizard101 is fun to play, and it's good for families. It's not in the same class as WoW, but if you're burned out on WoW, it's a good game to pick up.
