Blizzard ban themselves from WoW

"Speaking of Horde. I'm liking how realID has freed me from having to play alliance to chat with my friends who are allies. It is nice to be able to play whatever faction I want and still talk to my buddies when they get on."

From WoW's Terms of Use,
9. Code of Conduct
B.) Rules Related to "Chat" and Interaction With Other Users.
Communicating in-game with other Users and Blizzard representatives, whether by text, voice or any other method, is an integral part of the Game and the Service and is referred to here as "Chat." When engaging in Chat, you may not:
(viii) Communicate directly with players who are playing characters aligned with the opposite faction (e.g. Horde communicating with Alliance or vice versa);

Is it just me, or are Blizzard saying their own Terms of Use aren't worth the pixels they're not printed on?

Lol. Never even thought of the TOS.

So, when the company facilitates breaking their own TOS, does that invalidate the thing... or is it a trap to catch those nasty people who want to talk to friends?

...tongue slightly out of cheek, I'm actually a bit curious that that sort of thing would even make it to the TOS. That's idiotic to think they can ban communication.

Nice find. :)

I blame the webmaster.... keeping such out of date documents in public view is un-called for.

Klaki, I'm more inclined to blame Blizzard's Legal Dept. for not updating the ToS, and if they did update it, for not ensuring that the online version is the current one. Although the Webmaster isn't getting off scot-free either; they can shoulder some of the blame for not making sure they had the most current version.

But now I'm curious about the ToS that most people just scroll through and blindly click Accept. Does it get updated with every Patch? Or does it still match the version Blizzard have on their website?
