Fable II

Does Microsoft really need to sell their X-Box so badly that they'll force gamers to buy it just to play Fable II?

Considering you can't play Halo on the PC (or we'd spank those console players arses, and they know it), it really shouldn't be a surprise, but it's still fucking annoying. And no, I'm not going to buy an X-Box just to play Fable II...I already have an X-Box, it's called a PC, and it kicks the X-Box's arse.

Fucking Microsoft.

Yeah, that is a bummer, but you could always head down to the local Blockbuster Video, rent an Xbox as well as Fable II, and beat it in a week. The main storyline isn't that long, and as long as you don't mind grinding out a couple of hours worth of professions, you will have more than enough cash to get started in the addictive world of real estate/business.

Now that's an interesting strategy, Wolf, and one I suspect would not see MS get any more money than what they've already got out of Blockbuster, because I very much doubt MS gets a cut every time BB rents out an X-Box and/or game.

And even if they finally do release it for the PC, what are the odds it will require DX10 to run? Yup, you want to play Fable2? Then upgrade to Vista.

Echoes of Bartle's semifamous "I've played WAR already, it was called WoW". Thanks for a great quote, Capn. :D

I would also have loved the option of purchasing Fable II for the PC. :-(

Aye Aye, Capn.

Agree with Wolfgang, except going to BB to rent both a system and a game is just so damn inconvenient. I mean, it should just be available on Steam for $40.

Here I thought all the game exclusivity was gone in the console market? I know they are stopping producing big titles for the PC because of piracy (buh bye Madden 2009 - console only. Force Unleased? Console or die. etc. etc.) I did honestly think they stopped doing that though. (GTA used to be PS only, for an example).

Wrong! :P. Sorry, couldnt help it. They *do* take a while, but eventually the ports appear. Like Halo 3 will probably take another aeon or 5 before its ported, but it usually is. Same thing with Gears of War.

So.. yeah, wait 2 Years or buy the console, its just a business model and it.. unfortunately works.. *stares at xbox 360 unplugged in the corner..*.. Shame the Red Ring paid me a visit.

Yeah - I bet I spent 20 minutes looking through Amazon for a PC copy of Fable II. Man a bucket of suck...

Ah well - my oldest got an Xbox 360 for Xmas this year. When I get home I figure that will be one of the first games I'll buy for us *both*
